Flying squad apprehends five over weekend
Nyaope (heroine), crystal methamphetamine and mandrax were confiscated in separate incidents.
From January 14 to 16, Benoni Flying Squad members arrested five suspects and recovered three vehicles.

On Saturday at around 16:00, members were parked at a traffic light on R23 by Dubai Centre, Boksburg, in a marked SAPS vehicle when they witnessed a smash-and-grab taking place two cars ahead of them.
Members gave chase and the suspect was apprehended and the cellphone returned to the victim. Members also arrested three suspects for possession of drugs at Wenden and Station roads, Brakpan, and one in North Rand Road, Kempton Park.

The abandoned vehicles recovered were a blue Volkswagen Jetta, a red Isuzu bakkie and a white Toyota Hilux.
