The DA candidates dominated taking seven out of eight wards in Kempton Park following last Monday’s Local Government Elections.

ANC’s Bulelwa Ngqwangi got the most support in Ward 13 with 35.97% of the votes followed by the EFF candidate with 20.2%.
Ngqwangi’s support at the various Ward 13 voting stations were:
• 48.8% at Phomolong Secondary School.
• 37.43 % at Birch Acres Extension 23 temporary voting station.
• 22.87% Birch Acres Primary School.
Amanda Davison took Ward 15 with 72.1% of the votes cast in her favour. Davison took the most votes at the four voting stations with 75.71% at Laerskool Kruinsig, 75.75% at Hoërskool Jeugland, 67.83% at Wynand Marais Hall and 62.93% at Ward 15’s fourth voting station.
Freedom Front Plus took 12.88 % of the votes followed by Action SA with 5.78 % in Ward 15.
Jaco Terblanche (DA) was again elected as Ward 16 councillor. He took 63.72% of the votes.
EEF took 11.75% followed by Freedom Front Plus with 8.12% of the votes in this ward.
With 62.4% of the support in Ward 17, Simon Lapping (DA) will again serve as ward councillor for this area.

Lapping’s support at the various Ward 17 voting stations were:
• 72.43 % at Frik De Jager Park temporary voting station.
• 72.24 % at Summerfield Primary School.
• 60.51 % at Cresslawn Primary School.
• 30.55 % at Laerskool Kempton Park. The ANC received the most votes at this voting station with 34.1%
Andre du Plessis (DA) retained Ward 23 with 80.97% of the votes. The Freedom Front Plus took 8.43% of the votes followed by Action SA with 3.55% support.
The DA’s Pieter Henning took Ward 25 with 69.02% support followed by the Freedom Front Plus which got 11.66% off the votes.

Henning’s support at the various Ward 25 voting stations were:
• 52.51% at Bapsfontein Primary School.
• 71.97% at Noordlig Primary School.
• 70.51% at Laerskool Bredel.
• 68.01% at Kliprand temporary voting station.
• 41.51% at Busy Bee Pre-School.
• 78.94% at a sixth voting station.
• 73.96% at a seventh voting station.
Desmond McKenzie (DA) got 50.68% support in this ward. McKenzie’s support at the various Ward 91 voting stations were:
• 67.36% at Oasis Christian Church.
• 46.88% at Coen Scholtz Community Centre.
• 37.81% at Laerskool Jeugpark.
• 55.32% at Norkem Park Primary School.
Tracey Lourenco (DA) obtained 54.73% support in Ward 104. Lourenco’s support at the various Ward 104 voting stations were:
• 48.37 % at Mooifontein Laerskool.
• 42.48 % at Christian Community Church.
• 77.65 % at NG Hoogland Kempton Park.
• 73.02% at Laerskool Edleen.
• 41.18 % at Edleen Primary School.
