She was first recognised in 2020 for her collection of poems, Poetic Minds Combined, co-written by young people from all parts of the country.

“Women Talk Tears & Tissues examines the past and encourages a better tomorrow for women of this country. The book aims to set women free and not deprive them of their will by religion, culture and traditions,” said Digasho.

She added that the book radiates emotional comfort and closure to women whose gravity of determination, sense of power, authenticity, faith and admiration to change was stumbled upon.

“Given the high rate of statistics of gender-based violence, Women Talk Tears & Tissues advocates against that and urges women to report perpetrators,” she said.

She said the book breaks down the social issues we are afraid of addressing as women and society as a whole.

Digasho is a student at Unisa studying for a Bachelor of Law degree.
