The game featured action from kick-off when Godfrey Ramaboea scored one of two tries for the Valke, just seconds into the match.

Boland beat the Valke at Bosman Stadium by 44-43 in a high-scoring Currie Cup first division affair on July 16.

Both teams sit with 10 points on the log with Boland just one position above the Valke in third place.

The game featured action from the kick-off when Godfrey Ramaboea scored for the Valke, just seconds into the match. A few minutes later, Boland struck back through a penalty from Garrick Mattheus.

The scoreboard kept on ticking, thanks to a try by Valentino Wellman from the Valke as well as a try for Deon Carstens from Boland

Unfortunately for the Valke, their discipline cost them as they gave away multiple penalties setting up multiple scoring chances for the visitors.

The captain of the Valke, Denzel Hill, scored a beautiful interception try to help get his team ahead.

Just before half-time, Anrich Richter also got his name on the try sheet with a brilliant try to make the half-time score 28–23 in favour of the home team.

In the second half, Boland hit back, thanks to a try from John Lourens and so began the see-saw on the scoreboard.

The Valke hit back yet again with a penalty from the boot of Richter and Godfrey Ramaboea’s second try of the match.

Boland didn’t give up but again because of bad discipline from the Valke gave Taigh Schoor his first try of the match.

A few minutes later, Valke hit back, thanks to a driving maul try for the lock Jacques Alberts.

With the game seemingly in the bag, Boland had the last say when Schoor went over for his second try of the match to score the winning points.

The Valke tried their best to get back in the game but the clock was against them.

This Friday, the Valke will be away to Border before they face Eastern Province next Saturday. The Brakpan-based side will fancy their chances against the two bottom sides in the log. They still have a slight chance of sneaking into the final scheduled for August 14.
