Pretending to be customers, five suspects entered the Pick n Pay at Kempton Square last Thursday morning and performed what police confirmed to be a business robbery.
According to Capt Jethro Mthsali, chief spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS, the five suspects approached the shop’s mobile counter at 10.50am.
“Suddenly, one of the suspects produced a firearm and fired a shot, which resulted in one innocent customer sustaining a gunshot wound on the lower body. The suspects robbed the shop of an unknown number of cellphones and escaped the scene with an unknown mode of transport,” Mtshali stated.
