Construction of new sleeping facilities almost complete

The society looks forward to the start of stage two at Domitilla and Danny Hyams Home in Edenvale, which will include a medical and frail care section.

Excitement and gratitude can be felt in the air at Little Eden Society as stage one of a new 26-bed section at Elvira Rota Village in Bapsfontein reach completion. Upgrades were initiated late last year after the society received a generous donation, from an overseas anonymous donor, towards upgrading the facilities.

The primary objective is to reconfigure and upgrade the facilities to benefit the residents’ changing needs and the long-term sustainability of the society. The society looks forward to the start of stage two at Domitilla and Danny Hyams Home in Edenvale, which will include a medical and frail care section.

Upgrading the facilities will significantly impact the overall quality of care provided to the society’s residents and improve work the environment for those who care for them. Whilst little Eden is incredibly grateful for this opportunity, the society nevertheless would like to highlight that the continued financial support towards daily operational costs in providing holistic care for children and adults remains imperative and essential.

Without such continued support, the society would simply not exist. The support from long-standing supporters and the local community, in the form of financial, in-kind donations, and prayers, enable the society to keep its doors open, even during the uncertain times of the Covid-19 pandemic, and provide the level of care that the residents deserve.
