9 suspects arrested amid Operation O Kae Molao in Kempton Park CBD

Ekurhuleni District Commissioner Maj Gen Vincent Leshabane addressed the parade at Emperors Palace.

A joint operation by Kempton Park SAPS, along with other law enforcers, yielded positive results when nine suspects were arrested for several crimes in Kempton Park CBD on June 4.

The joint operation included Kempton Park SAPS, Norkem Park SAPS, Edenvale SAPS, POPS, police reservists, Gauteng Traffic, Department of Health, EMPD and the South African National Defence Force.

The operation was divided into phases such as road blocks, stop-and-searches and inspecting liquor outlets for non-compliance under Level 3 lockdown regulations.

Amid the operations, the Department of Health screened and tested residents for Covid-19.Leshabane applauded the members for their hard work and dedication.

“These operations will be held on a regular basis to help curb crime and to ensure that residents are adhering to lockdown regulations,” said Leshabane.
