Two busted with dagga worth R100 000

Two Malawian nationals were nabbed on May 22 for possession of 32.2kg of dagga on Pongola River Drive in Birchleigh North.

Spokesperson for Norkem Park SAPS, Sgt Johanna Madiga, said police were travelling along Pongola River Drive towards Krombek Street when they spotted a Hyundai H100 speeding and ignoring a stop sign.

:The officers made a U-turn and followed the vehicle. They managed to stop the suspects at the corner of Pongola River Drive and Kwartel Road and found two Malawians with two parcels in the back of the car. They checked the parcels and found dagga worth R100 000 inside.”

Madiga said the suspects, aged 35 and 25 years, alleged they were on their way to Midrand.

Norkem Park SAPS station commander, Col Johannes Tau, thanked the members for great work done.
