Groenewald said they were alerted about the incident through a Norkem Park WhatsApp group.

“A neighbour wrote on the group, saying ‘please help, noises and banging next door’. Next word was ‘gun’,” said Groenewald.

“We arrived on the scene with Fidelity ADT. Police were also on the scene. The woman said two suspects were inside and two outside.”

The two suspects inside the house were both armed with handguns. The getaway vehicle is unknown at this stage.

The victim was reported to be in a stable condition in hospital on Saturday morning.
