Win a weekend away by helping MES

The annual children’s festival is only a month away

The annual MES Kids Festival at Dries Niemandt Park is only a month away.

It will take place on August from 9am to 3pm.

It will be a family day with rides for children, good food to enjoy and flea market stalls. Space for stalls can be rented at R200.

Entertainment for children includes go-karts, quatro bungy, paintball, horse and train rides, waterslide, Zorb rollers and various other exciting rides.

The day’s programme will also entail performances by IV 4, Navi Redd, Joshuas, King D and New Roots.

Baby and Toddler Competition

Entries are still open for the baby and toddler competition. The entry fee is R45 per child and the photographer is Mike McLaughlin (071 686 2168).

There is no extra cost involved for the photo shoot. The closing date is August 11.

Prizes can be won in the different categories.

Singing Competition – Final on 26 August

Everyone with singing talent (13 years and older) is encouraged to enter. The first prize is R3 000 and a CD and You Tube recording of a song. The runner-up will win R2 000 and a CD recording of a song and third place will get R1 000. The audition evening is on August 7, the semi-final on August 14 and the final on August 26.

Win a weekend

Anyone signing a debit order of at least R100 a month for a year between July and August 26 will stand a chance of winning a complimentary weekend accommodation voucher from Premier Hotel. The value is R5 000 and it includes dinner and breakfast.

R100 a month can assist MES to pay for example one of the following: shelter accommodation for one client for six nights; 20 meals for one client; opportunity in a GROW team for two clients (one day); after-school programme accommodating one child a month (includes teacher and a meal every day).
