Church spreads Christmas cheer

"We do this to give the children something special."

The African Dream Family Church held its 17th annual Christmas Day for children from two informal settlements.

The day, which had the objective of spreading Christmas joy to the children, was enjoyed by all.

“We do this to give the children something special,” said Pastor Jackie Harris, a Senior Pastor of the church.

Pastor Jackie said the day catered for orphans between the ages of four and 13 years old.

Children from Angelo and Tembisa each received a gift and delicious snacks at the event.

Beside a gift from Father Christmas, the children also received stationery packs and school bags which were all donated.

Pastor Jackie said a nativity play was performed by the youth of the church for some entertainment.

She said the day went smoothly and that there were no challenges.

Caregivers of the children did not go home empty handed either, as they too received presents from the church.

“The event was wonderful and the children responded so well to it,” said Pastor Jackie.
