SPCA raises over R2 000 on new shop’s opening day

The store will be open from 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday and from 9am to 1pm on Saturdays

THE new Kempton SPCA shop had a great opening day after managing to raise R2 600 on Saturday.

The charity shop on Palm Avenue opened its doors to the public on Saturday morning where the first 20 customers received goodie bags and Vegan Treatery sold vegan pancakes.

The SPCA’s chairperson, Kira Sparrow, thanked everyone involved in making the charity shop a reality.

“I would like to specifically thank staff members Karen Erasmus, Jan du Toit and Charmaine Joubert for helping us transport items to the shop and putting everything together. Thank you to committee members

Brian Sparrow for painting the shop, Cindy Roselli for the admin work, goodie bags and helping with the layout of the shop.”

Sparrow also thanked Sign Source for making the signage for the shop, Salmon du Plooy from Kemprent (property renting agents) who helped them get a good deal on the shop as well as Johan Kok, who assisted with tiling, layout and running of the shop for the day.

“Everyone went out of their way to make today happen and we are extremely grateful.”

The shop is open for purchases as well as receiving of donations. Money raised will help cover the society’s running costs.The address is Shop 5, Ponta Do Pargo Building, Palm Avenue.
