Fun at Saturday’s kids festival

Tickets for the rides will sell for between R20 and R25 or a wristband can be purchased for R90.

MES Kempton Park invites residents to a fun-filled and relaxing family event at Dries Niemandt Park on Saturday from 9am to 3pm.

The venue is situated at Barnard Stadium on CR Swart Drive.

The day marks the organisation’s fifth annual kids festival and all funds raised will support the growth of the organisation’s various social relief, education and job rehabilitation programmes in the inner city.

The festivities will include a variety of flea market stalls, good food to enjoy and various fun rides for the kids. These include water and grass balls, a water slide (remember swimwear and towels), a parachute rocket, train and horse rides, go-karts and many more interesting surprises.

THE Joshuas will entertain visitors at the festival with their song and dance.

Tickets for the rides will sell for between R20 and R25, or a wristband can be purchased for R90, which gives children unlimited access to all the rides. Entrance to the venue is free and parking will be R10.

The event further includes entertainment by The Joshuas from MES’ youth enrichment programme, and a performance by local artist, Vanessa Potgieter, which will definitely be a highlight in the programme.

The winners of the baby and toddler competition will be announced at 12:30pm. Prize money for each category has been sponsored by Repcal Services and the family photo shoot, for each winner, by Hannes Roodt Photography.

On the day of the festival there will also be the opportunity to participate in three lucky draws, sponsored by Premier Hotel OR Tambo in Rhodesfield. It involves a weekend voucher for two, with complimentary accommodation, dinner and breakfast and two Sunday vouchers, which include complimentary accommodation, dinner and breakfast. Tickets for the draw cost only R30.
