Church paints hospice on Mandela day

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter - day Saints does its part for the 67minutes of Mandela day.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints painted the Baokeng Hospice on Saturday, July 16, in celebration of Mandela Day.

To celebrate Mandela Day in advance, the church and the community gathered in Hospital View to revamp the hospice’s kitchen, the pantry, the dining area and spruced up the gardens.

“We were joined by a group from Extension 7 that calls itself Enthralling, Enthusiastic and Free Generation, which came to clean the windows,” said Ms Marilyn Nhlapo of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

“On the same day, more members gathered at the Bulamahlo Orphanage in Difateng Section, where they donated blankets to the children, taught them how to make their own toys and spent time with them playing different games.”

Ms Nhlapo said they also cleaned Pongola Street in Birch Acres, where the church gathers every Sunday.
