Enter the Serengeti cooking competition for charity

The proceeds made from the competition will be donated to one of Kempton's charities

SERENGETI Golf Club will, over the next few months, host a cooking competition that will also give back to charity.

The ‘Kombuis Kaptein’ Thermomix cooking competition is a wonderful opportunity for people to show off their skills in the kitchen.

According to Serengeti’s marketing, PR and communications executive, Brigitte Thysse, participants will be given a Thermomix and one induction plate to cook from, where they will need to create a three-course meal within two hours.

Up for grabs is a Thermomix to the value of R 19 990. The competition will run over the next five months and includes various knock-out phases.

Bring along your support group for the evening and each audience member has to pay a nominal fee of R100. The money made from the fees goes to a local charity. A welcome drink and snacks will be provided.

If you are up for the challenge, submit a short resume of yourself, together with a three-course menu with the theme: Oos-Rand meets Asia.

The first round of the competition has already been held and the second round will be on August 1 at Serengeti Golf Club Halfway House at 4.30pm for 5pm.

Entries for round 2 close on July 25. Entrants must be non-professionals over the age of 18 years.
