Church celebrates the youth

Jerusalem Ark Apostolic Church held a youth conference over the weekend.

The church’s youth secretary, Ms Ditshego Molele, said the event was the church’s way of celebrating their youth members.

On July 9, congregants gathered at Moses Molelekwa Arts Centre to participate in aerobics, netball and soccer activities.

Indoor activities included speech presentation, poetry, dance, choirs and drama.

“We also had motivational speakers from Lejwe La Moteo as part of our activities,” said Ms Molele.

Five branches of the church competed in these activities.

Ms Molele said some of the participants came from as far as Limpopo.

“We wanted to introduce fresh activities to add to the usual church activities to accommodate the youth,” said Ms Molele.

She said youth gets put off by normal church activities and the event was to cater for them.

“Not everyone is gifted in preaching or singing. Some are given talents in other art forms. This gives a platform to our youth to explore their talents,” she said.

Ms Molele said young people appreciated the initiative and the exposure given to them.

“This was made possible by people who donated and Bishop Sello Molele. We want to thank everyone and the people who drove all the way from Limpopo to witness this youth event,” she said.
