Charity to benefit from winter markets

The markets will take place every Saturday and Sunday in July

KEMPTON Family Flea Market will hold its winter market at the Dries Niemandt Picnic Grounds every Saturday and Sunday during July from 10am to 5pm.

The market will have something for everybody. There will be live entertainment, a kids’ entertainment area with jumping castles, rides, obstacle course and much more, lots of food and beverage stalls catering for all tastes and, of course, the market stalls with a wide variety of merchandise, arts and crafts.

Lucky draws for exciting prizes will take place every market day. There will also be special events such as car and motorbike shows, hip-hop dancers, upcoming artists and music supplied by DJ Mike from London.

The entrance fee is R5 for adults and R2 for children. Safe parking is provided on the premises at R10.

The market will be held in a large park with ample space to hold a picnic with your family in safe surroundings while doing your browsing and shopping. Bring a blanket with and donate it to a charity afterwards.

Two charities have been nominated to benefit from this venture by sharing the gate takings of the whole month and also having stalls where they can receive further donations from the public. The beneficiaries are Ubuhle Bezwe Child Care Centre for neglected children in Tembisa, who not only need funds but also food, blankets and clothing; and Con Amore School, which cares for children with disabilities.

For the late-comers who have not yet booked their stall, it’s not too late. There are limited merchandise and general spaces available at R100 a day and a few food stalls at fair prices. Call Shanaaz on 074-912-1150.
