Van Buuren Road hijacking leaves man critical

He was taken to a hospital in Alberton

A man is fighting for his life after a shooting incident in Bedfordview this morning.

According to Chris Botha, Netcare 911 spokesman, reports from the scene indicate the man was traveling along Van Buuren Road when he was shot in an alleged hijacking.

Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the man had sustained life-threatening injuries.

After medics stabilised him at the scene, they transported the critically wounded patient to a hospital in Alberton.
