SA ‘drug actress’ identified – she remains in custody

The woman was previously reported to be a South African actress who had flown into Johannesburg from Abu Dhabi

THE case of Ottilia Mmatjatji Malatji (29), who was allegedly caught with R4.6 million worth of drugs at OR Tambo International Airport on Sunday, was postponed to October 7 for a bail application.

She will remain in custody. She briefly appeared in Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday morning.

Malatji was previously reported to be a South African actress who had flown into Johannesburg from Abu Dhabi with 15 packages of crystal meth. Later reports stated that the arrested drug mule was not famous after all.

Customs officials at OR Tambo discovered 15.4kg of ephedrine in Malatji’s bag.

Malatji wore a black jacket with blue jeans and a white top. She boasted shoulder length hair.

The suspect has opted to be represented by a lawyer when she makes her second appearance on Wednesday, October 7.
