Taking care of business

The City of Ekurhuleni and Leadership 2020 have joined hands and will, next week, host the first Ekurhuleni Leadership 2020 Seminar.

The event, themed “Taking Care of Business”, will be held on Monday, December 2, at Emperors Palace.

On the same day, the highly anticipated launch of The Leadership 2020 book will take place.

The release of The Leadership 2020 book officially marks a bold move by the popular DJ Sbusiso Leope (DJ Sbu) to add to his many titles, those of author and publisher.

The book features an esteemed line-up of local and international authors and has pre-sold thousands of copies.

Leadership 2020 is a positive change movement led by social entrepreneur, media personality and music mogul Leope, who, with a team of entrepreneurs, works daily to motivate and positively uplift the mind-sets and attitudes of young South Africans, building 2020 Leaders.

Leope, who was recently nominated for the Forbes Africa Person of The Year title, is a fearless, hungry, workaholic, who boldly announces to his audiences: “I won’t quit”, “I’ll outwork anybody” and “I want more”.

“This is by far the most exciting time of our growth yet for us, as we are bringing people our vision in the form of creative and motivational expression; we are promoting a positive mind-set, healthy lifestyle and education, and making sure that you have fun while you do it,” said Leope.

“Our seminar has the potential to change tens of thousands of people’s lives and we are excited and encouraged by the support from the City of Ekurhuleni.”

The “Taking Care of Business” multi-speaker leadership seminar will feature inspirational dialogues by renowned business men and women. Robert Gumede, Cyril Ramophosa, Dr David Molapo, Johana Mukoki, Stedman Graham, J T Foxx and Marlon Smith are headlining the event.

Ekurhuleni mayor Clr Mondli Gungubele is excited about hosting the seminar, which fits seamlessly into the city’s plans to become Africa’s first aerotropolis.

“The city supports this programme, as it resonates with our plans to build a culture of independent young South Africans who are full of enthusiasm about their future and that of the region,” said Gungubele.

“This is a platform that will help us to produce young people who are conscious of the significance of being South African, and its meaning.

“The time has come for all our young people to assume responsibility for their own lives and start shaping their own futures.”

The seminar will be an all-day affair, where aspiring business moguls will network and engage with like-minded people, listen and learn from some of the most successful people in the country and the world.
