Robber gets 22 years

Eric Nkoagatse (28) from Ivory Park, extension 6, was sentenced to 22 years in jail

He was found guilty by the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday last week.

Nkoagatse was found guilty of committing common robbery and house robbery in three consecutive months at his area. According to the Ivory Park SAPS communications officer, Warrant Officer Neldah Sekgobela, Nkoagatse robbed a woman of her cellular phone in May 2012.

“She was helped by community members who apprehended him at the scene. The cellular phone was returned to the woman after she identified it. The following month, he entered a house near his home in Ivory Park and robbed another woman of her cellular phone at gunpoint. The victim managed to identify him as he stays three houses away from her home,” said W/O Sekgobela.

She added that the sentence would serve as an example to those criminals intending to commit more crimes.
