Councillors attend Aids conference

The report was delivered at the Ekuruhuleni Metropolitan Municipality’s (EMM) council meeting on Thursday.

The conference took place from June 30 to July 3 and was attended by councilors Clr Nocawe Yamba, Clr Mbuyiseli Xakambana and Clr Nhlahla Nyandeni from the Health and Social Development Oversight Committee.

The conference focussed on the scientific progress made since the HIV/Aids outbreak and highlighted the World Health Organisation’s guidelines.

The conference also provided a wealth of studies regarding new drugs, treatments and formulations. It also examined some of the latest breakthroughs in the treatment of the disease.
