Community builder wins R100 000

One of the most respected community builders in the country, Mr Kenneth Sithagu, made Tembisa and Ekurhuleni proud when he became the very first winner of ABSA Bank's "Captain my Captain" competition.

Apart from his involvement in many local community upliftment projects, Mr Sithagu formed the Tsogang Basadi FC, a soccer team comprised of elderly women from Tembisa.

His main aim for forming the team was to help the women who suffer from chronic diseases through regular excises. Because of his selfless efforts, many of the Gogos now enjoy a fit and healthy lifestyle. For his efforts, Sithagu won a whopping R100 000.

When asked what he is going to do with the money, he said, “I will use the money to purchase sewing machines and provide training for the women at the club.”
