This followed after the recently-held Annual General Meeting (AGM).
“I am extremely proud of the men and women elected to the branch’s new executive committee. These DA members have shown real commitment to the party in their willingness to take up the leadership of the Ward 90 branch in the run-up to the 2014 general elections,” said Clr Thamahane.
Clr Thamahane said he believed the team would play an important role in paving the way to a DA victory in 2014.
“Most of the new executive committee members have lived in the informal settlement for almost 19 years and know the bitter taste of empty ANC promises. It is because of these disappointments, as well as the promise of a true, open-opportunity society for all South Africans, that they are committed to knocking on every door in the ward to ensure that every DA supporter does their bit on election day,” he said.
