Tembisa-based football team, Highlands City FC, won the Gauteng Eastern Local Football Association’s U/20 Cup after they beat Alberton FC at Germiston on Saturday.

The team was formed by Nsizwa Lamula.

“I am proud of my boys, they were dedicated throughout the season. I am glad they won the cup,” he said. The two goals were scored by Phahlane Hlapolosa and Themba Mahlalela.

Lamula also praised team captain Tebogo Mabotja for his outstanding performance throughout 2013.

He says he is now focusing on building the team to become the future Philly’s games champions. He is also confident they will be playing in the SAFA 2nd division soon.

“We are appealing to the business community to help us with sponsorship,” he said.

They also have junior teams like the U/13, U/14, U/15 and U/17 that are also playing in the ELFA League.
