Large haul of dagga recovered

A 48-year-old man was arrested for being in possession of three refuse bags full of dagga.

The police arrested the suspect on Friday last week.

According to the Tembisa SAPS communications officer, Captain Manyadza Ralidzivha, the police received information from members of the public about a suspect selling dagga at the Ehlanzeni Hostel.

The police went to the hostel and found the 48-year-old and searched his house. The police found three refuse bags full of dagga under his bed.

“The dagga weigh 39,4 kilogrammes with a street value estimated to be R50 000. The man was arrested and detained at the Tembisa police cells for dealing in dagga.

“We are appealing to community members to come forward with information that can help us bring drug dealers to book. Remember, you are our eyes and ears for the commission of crimes,” said Capt Ralidzivha.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court soon.
