Two nabbed for house robbery

Two men, aged 35, were arrested for a house robbery at Ililiba section on Wednesday last week.

According to the Tembisa SAPS spokesperson, Captain Manyadza Ralidzivha, the house owner alleged she heard a knock on her door and asked who was it. The suspect called her by her real name.

The victim though she knew the other person and opened the door. The suspect pointed a firearm at the victim and ordered her back into the house.

Captain Ralidzivha added that the suspects took cash and fled the scene. “Family members called the police and one of the two suspects was found walking along the street in Endulweni section. Police found him in possession of an unlicensed firearm. The suspect took the police to his accomplice at Phomolong. They found him in his room and also in possession of an unlicensed firearm,” he added.

Both suspects were arrested and detained at the Tembisa police cells. They are expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court on charges of house robbery, possession of unlicensed firearms and the possession of illegal ammunition.
