Norkem beat Sir Pierre in annual derby
The match was decided on a penalty shootout
NORKEM High School’s first soccer team beat Sir Pierre Van Ryneveld 5-4 in the annual Kemp Classico at Norkem Park High School on Saturday.
The match was decided on penalties after a 1-1 draw after extra time.
The results of the other matches were: Norkem U/14 lost 0-1, U/15 draw 0-0, Norkem U17 win 2-1.
Norkem Park High School’s first soccer team would like to give appreciation to their two corporate partners, Tap a Tag and Flame Diner, for their continued support and sponsorship the past season.
First team coach, Andrew Gifford, said the two sponsors joined Sanlam, who have put up R5 000 prize money for the weekend’s Kemp Classico against rival school Sir Pierre van Ryneveld High School.
