Kempton Park SAPS addresses bullying at Bonaero Park Primary School

500 learns were addressed about the importance of empathy and kindness.

Sergeant Mpho Sigida, social crime prevention co-ordinator from Kempton Park SAPS, visited Bonaero Park Primary School to tackle the issue of bullying, which has become a significant concern at the school on October 9.

Sergeant Sigida was joined by Sergeant Ntombi Abrokwa, Sergeant Mashatola, Captain Tshavhangu and Sergeant Sefoko.

The event also saw the participation of various community members, including the Crime Prevention Youth Desk, Pastor Williams, Gauteng patrollers, EMPD and Community Safety Brigades.

Five-hundred learners were addressed about the importance of empathy and kindness.

According to Sergeant Dipuo Ditshego, spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS, the Crime Prevention Youth Desk demonstrated to the learners how bullying impacts their peers and shared tips on how to avoid it and what to do if they feel threatened.

During the event, 500 learners were encouraged to practice empathy and kindness.

“Be your sister’s keeper. Stop bullying one another and love one another,” Sigida urged.
