Letter: Special thank you to Special Moments

After trying several schools without seeing any progress, we were beginning to lose hope. He had bad meltdown tantrums and we couldn't give him any medication to calm him down.

EDITOR – I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude to Special Moments Special Needs School in Terenure, Kempton Park.

Our eight-year-old son, who was diagnosed with non-speaking autism, has been attending this remarkable school for the past six months.

He was saved and placed in our care after his biological mother wanted to sell him for drugs when he was just one day old.

He was known as baby William.

After trying several schools without seeing any progress, we were beginning to lose hope. He had bad meltdown tantrums and we couldn’t give him any medication to calm him down.

He would just refuse to take it even with the help of professional doctors and nurses.

But thanks to the dedicated team at Special Moments, our son has made tremendous strides. In just six short months, he has learned to write some words, count, and even utter a few words. All without medication.

The progress he’s made is nothing short of miraculous, and we attribute it all to the school’s nurturing environment, expert teachers, and tailored approach to special needs education.

Your dedication, patience, and love have made a significant impact on our son’s life, and we are forever grateful.

Please keep up the fantastic work you’re doing, and I hope this letter serves as a testament to the transformative power of your school.
