Bredell business celebrates Mandela spirit with Queen of Africa

Throughout her year as queen, Birnie went above and beyond to represent the Africa pageant's mission to transform lives.

Bean Tree Café Bredell recently gave back to the community for Mandela Day.

The event attracted attention in the community and was attended by beauty queen Bianca Birnie, who joined staff from the Bean Tree.

Staff from Bean Tree Café Bredell and Birnie visited Brentwood Primary School to celebrate Mandela Day with them.

Birnie had a talk with the learners about the importance of the day.

Birnie was crowned Mrs Glamour Africa 2017 and was crowned Queen of Africa when she handed the Mrs Glamour Africa crown to the new queen at Buffelspoort in Magaliesberg.

Throughout her year as queen, Birnie went above and beyond to represent the Africa pageant’s mission to transform lives.

Birnie spoke to the Brentwood Primary School learners about respect towards their parents, teachers and friends.
The children were asked questions about the late president Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela before receiving gifts sponsored by West Pack and Overcoats Factory Printing.

ELB Equipment gave books to the school.

Eight big gifts were given to the children who answered the questions correctly. Forty gifts were given randomly to children who answered questions about respect.

Bean Tree Café and Bredell Spar in Bredell also hosted a breakfast for the school’s principal, sponsors of the day and the special guest, Birnie.

Bean Tree Cafe Bredell manager Debbie Smith was delighted to have the Queen of Africa celebrate Mandela Day with them and she said she was grateful to everyone who was part of the celebration.

“I would like to thank everyone who was part of this celebration. We appreciate the assistance.”
