Police nab five suspects and recover stolen vehicles

Officers arrested a 22-year-old suspect and recovered household goods to the value of around R20 000 inside the vehicle.

Between August 2 and August 4, Benoni Flying Squad members arrested five suspects and recovered a truck and two motor vehicles.

A chase that originated on the N12 Highway early Friday morning, by officers from Mpumalanga, ended at the intersection of Zuurfontein Road and Parkland Drive in Esther Park.

Officers arrested a 22-year-old suspect and recovered household goods to the value of around R20 000 inside the vehicle.

On August 3, at around 15:00, officers followed up information that led them to a property on Main Street, Primrose.

A 36-year-old suspect was arrested in possession of illicit cigarettes valued at around R20 000 and was dealt another blow when his R500 bribery offer added another charge.

Some of the drugs that were recovered from the suspects in Brakpan and Thembisa.

Three suspects were arrested for possession of drugs at Station Road, Brakpan, as well as Leboeng and Teanong sections in Thembisa.

Crystal methamphetamine and Mandrax were recovered in these separate incidents.

In further policing, two abandoned hijacked vehicles were recovered.

A white Hino truck was found at Yurona Shopping Mall in Kaalfontein reported taken on a Weirdabrug case, and a grey Volkswagen Polo was found at Ehlanzeni Section, Thembisa, reported on a Norkem Park case.

Investigation continues into all cases.
