Kempton Park CPF and social crime prevention coordinator Sergeant Ntombi Abrokwa recently launched a campaign to warn residents of an increase in cases of theft out of motor vehicles.

Abrokwa and Izelle Van Den Berg from the CPF’s exco committee advised motorists who shop at the mall to never leave valuable items visible in their vehicles, as criminals may spot them.

“Always lock your cars remotely and physically, as criminals are always watching, especially for cars that are only locked remotely.

“Victims may find that items are missing from their cars when they arrive at their destination, without any signs of break-in,” said Van Den Berg.

Abrokwa added that similar campaigns would be conducted regularly to ensure that Kempton Park residents feel safe while shopping.

Car guards were also told to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
