He said he developed his love for music and wasted no time in learning more about the industry.

Kunene said that he did not know what to expect when he started on his musical journey but decided to do it anyway.

He added that he would face whatever challenges lay ahead.

“I was just a child and I didn’t know what I was doing. I just started off as someone who loves music and wanted to turn it into a career.

“I didn’t know what to expect or what it was going to be like,” he said.

Although he developed a love for music at 13, he only began rapping in 2023, when he launched his single Umthandazo.

As a hip-hop artist, it is expected for one to have a role model, and Kunene’s role model is Nasty C.

Nasty C is a South African rapper recognised globally for his work. He has collaborated with American rapper Tip ‘T.I’ Harris and American singer Annie Lennox. Kunene sees himself walking the same path.

Kunene believes anything is possible through hard work.

“Never give up is one of my favourite quotes and it gives me hope to continue with what I believe in.

“Dedication and faith will help you get to where you want to be and achieve what you want; you just have to believe,” Kunene said.

“My career was difficult when I started; I couldn’t get gigs, but now it is way better. I’m getting gigs and I am recognised by many people.

I promote my music by performing in pubs around my area,” Kunene said.

He said that his community means a lot to him.
