Norkem Park murder-suicide under police investigation

The female driver sustained a bullet wound to her neck while the male passenger sustained two bullet wounds to his neck and lower jaw.

Norkem Park SAPS are investigating the details surrounding an apparent murder-suicide which took place on Monday, May 6.

According to Norkem Park SAPS spokesperson, Warrant Officer Barbara-Anne Ferreira at around 14:00 on the day police officers responded to a complaint of reckless driving at the intersection of Mooifontein Road and Pongola River Drive.

“When officers arrived they found a grey VW Jetta with two occupants.

“The female driver was found to have sustained a bullet wound to her neck,” said Ferreira

She added that a man in the passenger seat had sustained two bullet wounds to his neck and lower jaw.

“The responding officer also found that the man had a firearm in his right hand.”

Ferreira said paramedics were called to the scene and both occupants of the vehicle were declared dead.

“One case of murder and an inquest docket was opened and will be investigated.”
