Delays at ORTIA: Aircraft stuck on runway hampers departures

There is only one operational runway at OR Tambo International Airport due to a plane stuck on the taxiway.

Travellers departing from OR Tambo International Airport are advised that the airport is experiencing delays.

According to Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) the delays are a result of an aircraft stuck on the taxiway.

Currently there is only one operational runway which is being used for departures.

In a statement released earlier ACSA confirmed that the maintenance department at the airport was also in the process of cleaning FOD (foreign object and debris) found on the runway.

“Passengers are advised to download the ACSA Mobile App and subscribe to their flight to receive live flight notifications.”
