Flying squad arrest six suspects, recover vehicles and firearms
Officers recovered a Sig Sauer 9mm pistol with the serial number filed off. The robbery victim died before medical assistance arrived.
Between April 19 and 20, Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) members arrested six suspects and recovered one firearm and two motor vehicles.
On April 19 at around 18:00, officers helped a Kragen Street, Boksburg, business owner and security personnel arrest a suspect for business burglary and theft.
It is alleged they cornered the suspect on the premises with a bag in which he had already put parts stolen from parked vehicles. He tried to flee but was caught.

In the early hours of April 20, officers followed up on information about suspects at a diesel depot in Ext 1, Etwatwa West, who were involved in a business robbery of a warehouse in Kempton Park.
They arrested two suspects on the premises and recovered two vehicles – a white Toyota Quantum used in a robbery and reported on a Kempton Park case – and a white Hyundai H1 reported hijacked on an Alberton case from December 2023.
On the evening of April 20 at about 20:00, a member travelling on the R554, Brakpan, saw a woman lying on the road with serious head injuries.
It seemed to be a hit-and-run until a complainant who stayed nearby arrived and said two armed suspects robbed him and the woman.

The officer’s preliminary investigation, assisted by a security member, led to the arrest of two suspects walking further down the road towards Brakpan after the complainant identified them.
They recovered a Sig Sauer 9mm pistol with the serial number filed off. Unfortunately, the victim died before medical assistance arrived.
In further policing, a 37-year-old suspect was arrested for possession of crystal meth on High Road, Brakpan.
Investigations will continue on all cases.
The suspects will appear in local Magistrate’s courts facing charges of business breaking, theft, possession of a hijacked vehicle and vehicle used in the commission of a crime, murder, armed robbery, possession of an unlicensed firearm and drugs.
