Legacy awards gear up for upcoming ceremony with a pre-launch

Kamoraleng is a concept developed by award-winning veteran journalist and brand expert Develd Monyai.
Under the Kamoraleng umbrella, the Legacy Awards aims to celebrate, preserve and honour different cultures and traditions in the country.
On noticing a need to share African stories, Monyai founded the Kamoraleng Heritage Institute in 2019.

Kamoraleng hosted the launch ceremony of the Legacy Awards at Imbizo Shesanyama on March 21 to gear up for the upcoming main event set to take place at The Orchards Executive Accommodation in Glen Austin on May 25.
Daveld Munyai said his wish is to preserve heritage for future generations.

“It upholds family values that give an African child dignity, discipline, and self-respect.
“Kamoraleng is awakened to the reality that traditional leaders must play a pivotal role as custodians of our priceless and treasured cultures.

“They have lost the rightful space of their kingdom ships and recognition since the dawn of our democracy and freedom.
“We will rewrite our history by also reflecting on the selfless work of our pioneers, like maZwane, who created the famous Busy Corner, and Lekau Sehoana, the Drip owner who changed his misfortunes by creating this township brand,” added Munyai.
