Thembisa forms anti-crime sector and pledges support to police

In the presence of prominent figures in the Thembisa Vispol, a sector crime sub-forum was elected on July 21 that symbolised a positive and committed collaboration between the police and the Isithama and Matikweni sections of Sector Five.

Led by Colonel Percy Selematsela, Thembisa Vispol commander, the residents of Isithama and Matikweni demonstrated their dedication to community safety.

The Isekelo Primary School hall witnessed a momentous occasion as it filled to its maximum capacity.

Before the gathering, Sergeant Pitsi Makgatho, GBV co-ordinator, utilised loudspeakers to ensure that the entire community received notification of the meeting.

Deputy principal Sam Magau also lent a helping hand by distributing invitations to learners to pass on to their parents, guaranteeing widespread attendance.

As the meeting drew to a close, Selematsela commended the attendees for their resilience in braving the cold weather to partake in this urgent gathering.

He assured them his support extended far beyond mere words. Selematsela vowed to lead by example, promising to actively work alongside his ‘foot soldiers’ on the streets, forging a partnership between the community and the police.

The community’s commitment to assembling at such short notice filled Selematsela with confidence and optimism.

He reiterated his dedication to an open-door policy, inviting anyone with pertinent information to approach his office.
