When can EMPD impound a vehicle

Here are some offences that can get a vehicle impounded:
• A parking offence causing an obstruction.
• If your vehicle is deemed to be abandoned on a public road.

• Buses and taxis can also be impounded for not having a permit or operating contrary to a permit.
• Parking in a tow-away zone or in an emergency services area.
• Parking on a red line or no parking area.

• If the vehicle is used in illegal street racing.
• If the vehicle is unroadworthy.
