BFS arrests four suspects and recover goods

Two stolen mobile compressors, valued at R200 000, were recovered.

Officers from the Benoni Flying Squad arrested four suspects and recovered one motor vehicle, one firearm and two air compressors between April 24 to 26.

Three suspects, variously on Maripani Street, Actonville, Bosch Street and North Rand Road, Kempton Park, were arrested for having drugs on their person.

Crystal meth, Mandrax and nyaope were recovered in separate incidents.

On April 24, officers followed up on information about premises in Entshonalanga Section, Thembisa. Two stolen mobile compressors valued at R200 000 were recovered.

The next day, officers reacted to a complaint of a robbery. A suspect was arrested on North Reef Road, Bedfordview.

Upon arrival, they found a suspect arrested by a security company after he allegedly robbed a shop in Meadowbrook.

An employee followed the suspect and was assisted by the security company that detained him.

Officers arrested the 52-year-old and confiscated an Akdel 9mm firearm with the serial numbers filed off and five live rounds of ammunition.

In further policing, an abandoned hijacked white Volkswagen Polo reported on a Thembisa case was recovered at Clayville Ext 45, Ivory Park.

Investigations into all the cases continue.

The suspects, aged between 28 and 52, will appear in the local magistrate’s courts to face charges of possessing drugs, armed robbery and possessing an unlicensed firearm.
