The Kempton Park SAPS communications officer Sergeant Dipuo Ditshego said the meeting engaged with the community members and business owners on the various crime issues they face.
“It was an engagement between business owners, community members and SAPS regarding how to deal with the crime because sector three has a high crime rate,” said Ditshego.
She said, as SAPS, they wanted to engage with the community to find a way forward and help each other fight crime in the community.
“A second meeting will be held because tasks were given to the community leaders and business owners to monitor suspects who may be selling stolen goods,” she added.

Ditshego also shared that business owners could raise concerns and find how they can come together with the community and police to reduce the crime rate because sector three contributes a lot in terms of crime in Kempton Park.
