UPDATE: Man arrested for Norkem Park murder not part of current soapie cast – 7de Laan
At this stage suspect's identity cannot be revealed until they appear before court.
In a statement released this afternoon SABC 2 and 7de Laan said neither entity have knowledge of the identity of the 50-year-old man arrested following the murder of his partner.

“We are deeply saddened and disturbed by the reports circulating in the media regarding a tragic incident of domestic violence involving an alleged 7de Laan actor,” the entities said.
“As it stands, we have no knowledge of the identity of the individual involved and would like to express our heartfelt condolences to the victim’s family and friends.”
While production made efforts to establish the identity of the individual “as per the law, a suspect’s identity cannot be disclosed until such time that they have been formally charged.
“We can however confirm that the individual in question is not part of the current cast.”
It is believed the suspect was an actor who featured in a number of South African soap operas, but it is still unclear as to which.

The Express earlier reported that a 50-year-old man was taken to hospital under police guard after he shot and killed his 29-year-old partner in Norkem Park.
According to Norkem Park SAPS spokesperson, Warrant Officer Barbara-Anne Ferreira, when police arrived at house they discovered the body of a 29-year-old man in a cottage on the property.
“The suspect (50) was still on the scene and found in possession of an unlicensed firearm,” she said.
