Tembisa Magistrate’s Court gives two men 15 years in prison for murder

While the two committed two murders on separate occasions in Ivory Park in 2017 and 2022, they were both sentenced to their respective prison terms on the same day.

Two men were recently each sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for murder by the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court.

While the two committed two murders on separate occasions in Ivory Park in 2017 and 2022, they were both sentenced to their respective prison terms on the same day.

In 2017, Ngoako Motia (26) fatally stabbed Warren Mashitisho during a robbery. It was this heartless act that earned Motia his 15-year jail sentence.

Meanwhile, Prosper Sibanda (23), formerly of Ext 2, Ivory Park, was saddled with a 15-year jail term for the 2022 murder of his friend, Leaders Dube, whom he stabbed during an argument.

During the squabble, Sibanda took out a knife and stabbed Dube multiple times in the neck. He also stabbed a man who tried to stop the fight.

“We have witnesses to thank for the convictions.

“They came forward with information when needed, therefore assisting us in restoring justice for the deceased and their families,” said Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo, the station commander of the Ivory Park SAPS.
