According to Captain Jethro Mtshali, spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS, residents praying in open fields may become victims of crimes.

This follows an alleged robbery on October 7.

“It is believed that on the day shortly before 10:00, two women went for prayer at an open veld on 9th Avenue, in Bredell,” said Mtshali.

“While one of the women was praying in the veld, the other was seated inside the car and accosted by two armed suspects.

“The suspects allegedly robbed her of her belongings, including a cellphone, laptop and car keys.

Mtshali added that the armed suspects were allegedly driving a white BMW.

No injuries were reported.
