BFS recovers vehicles, arrests suspects

On May 30 at approximately 22:00 officers received information from the 10111 call centre of a white Toyota Quantum travelling on the R21 towards Pretoria.

Between May 30 and May 31, officers from the Benoni Flying Squad arrested four suspects and recovered six motor vehicles.

On May 30 at approximately 22:00 officers received information from the 10111 call centre of a white Toyota Quantum travelling on the R21 towards Pretoria.

The vehicle was hijacked in Sharpville and officers managed to intercept it at the R23 onramp.

Two suspects were arrested inside the vehicle and a licensed Norinco pistol registered to one of the suspects as well as one live round of ammunition was recovered.

The two men will face charges of possession of a hijacked motor vehicle when they appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court.

A further two suspects were arrested for possession of drugs.

One of the two suspects was arrested along Station Road in Brakpan with crystal methamphetamine. The second suspect was caught along North Rand Road in Kempton Park with heroin.

A white Toyota Hilux was recovered with a jamming unit on the back seat in Pynrit Street, Dersley Park. It was reported hijacked in Witbank.

Each of the two suspects will appear in local magistrate’s courts on drug-related charges.
In addition, several hijacked vehicles were recovered by the team.

• A white Isuzu D-Max was recovered in Nkuna Street, Ivory Park and tested positive for a Pretoria Central case.

• A red truck trailer was recovered at a truck stop in Marble Street, Pomona and was reported hijacked on a Mondeor case.

• A white 3-series BMW was found in Kanana Section, Rabie Ridge and was hijacked in an Olievenhoutbosch case.

• A silver Toyota Corolla recovered in Archie Fish Street, Ivory Park was reported hijacked on a Rabie Ridge case.

• A white Toyota Hilux was recovered with a jamming unit on the back seat in Pynrit Street, Dersley Park. It was reported hijacked in Witbank.

Investigation in all cases will continue.
