Two suspects nailed for possession of police uniforms

Both suspects aged 22 and 27 were detained at Tembisa South Saps

Members of the Ekurhuleni District Crime Intelligence Trio Task Team apprehended suspects in possession of police uniforms on May 17.

Members made the arrests after they received information about suspects who were planning a robbery.

Some of the uniforms found during an intelligence-driven operation during which two suspects were arrested.

Officers investigated the information and on May 18 members from EMPD, JMPD Region A, Crime Intelligence, Gauteng Traffic, Ekurhuleni Flying Squad, 87 Feature Security and Tracker conducted an operation in the early hours of the morning.

Capt Neldah Sekgobela, Ekurhuleni District communications officer, said one of the suspects was spotted entering a property in Moedi Section, Thembisa South, where members conducted a search.

“Officers found police uniforms, which included three EMPD trousers, one EMPD shirt, two EMPD reflector jackets, one EMPD cap, one EMPD laptop and one black holster with a pellet gun. Both suspects were detained at Thembisa South Police Station.”
