Thembisans receive donations following losses suffered from floods

School shoes, uniforms donated to learners who lost their belongings in the flood.

In response to the recent flash floods in Ivory Park in Thembisa, Coca-Cola Beverages SA partnered with the City of Ekurhuleni, Red Cross and Gift of the Givers to support the community in their time of need.

The floods in February saw over 140 families displaced and in need of temporary shelter at the Moses Molelekwa Arts and Computer Centre.

The handover of donations on March 10 included 140 blankets, 140 toiletries packs for men and women, sanitary towels, toilet paper, school shoes and uniforms.

“We supplied 27 learners with school shoes, uniforms and bags. We promote the value of education and providing learners with help,” said Naidoo.

Coca-Cola Beverages SA, City of Ekurhuleni, Red Cross and Gift of the Givers made the donations to Thembisans on March 10.
