Kungwane has managed to kill two birds with one stone as hospitals are assisted in the delivery of medication to patients, while patients don’t worry about the collection of medication.

Standing in a long queue to get his grandparents’ medication prompted the founder of Pusha Delivery to launch his business.

“When it was time for grandparents in my community to get medication from the hospital or even adjacent clinics, I witnessed many of them struggle. So many people wait in line for medical attention only to be told that their medication will be ready the next day.

“In some cases, however, people are told when their medication will be ready for pick up, which means they will have to return to the same queue.

“Some people are restricted by their working hours and cannot obtain their medication while others rely on their children or neighbours to obtain it for them. For some their children attend school, while some of which are far from home.

“Afternoon waiting at a clinic or hospital can be a nightmare. Neighbours, on the other hand, don’t always have the time. So, I decided to fill in the gap,” said Kungwane.

“My goal is to bridge the gap between individuals who do not have access to transportation to get to hospitals and clinics and those who, owing to age or chronic sickness, do not have someone to help them.

“My choice was based on overpopulation in medical spaces and to prevent the pandemic from spreading. I’d like to believe that many individuals would be interested in the services I’m giving.”

He said the most challenging thing is obtaining the trust of both consumers and medical centres.

“Anyone can make a difference in their community by providing services and combating the unemployment rate by self-employment and employing others in the community. I only charge R35 for pickup and delivery,” said Kungwane.
