As a work-driven woman, mom and wife, Charlotte Botha (38) envelops her thoughts and oozes creativity in her first self-published poetic work in two Christian editions.

This Bonaero Park resident of the last 17 years is the proud author and poet of her self-published Christian work, titled Letters to God’ coupled with her Poems to God.

Her personal favourites are titled I have life and Angel Wings.

“I have life is about being a normal every day person with faults, but knowing that God overlooks these traits to see you as a person. The reward is having a life to live.

“Angel Wings is about loss as so many women suffer miscarriages, including myself, at a point in our lives. I share my personal experience and hope to touch other moms to not feel ashamed.”

Charlotte said she ventures into various genres that touch on subjects from love, hurt, pain, spiritual awareness, Christianity and parenthood.

Although Charlotte is self-published, she highly commended her editor, Giselle Visser.

“She is an amazing woman with so much talent and assists me to put my poems together in a beautiful book which can take six months – from my own writing, selection of poems, editing, carefully selecting a picture to help tell the story of my poems.”

Her publishing endeavour follows a history of authoring online in her blog titled From the Heart.

“I wanted to do something unique and really discuss every day life turbulence. In opening up my work to the community, I want to inspire people.

“If you are passionate enough about your hobby, don’t let go of a dream and to pursue it. It doesn’t matter if you are 20 or 50, it can still happen.”

“I have lived most of my life in Kempton Park, was born in the old Kempton Park Hospital, so I feel very connected to our city.”
